THE NASCAR FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NASCAR DAY PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WARD BURTON WILDLIFE FOUNDATION
NASCAR Day Pins at Martinsville Speedway Will Help Support Local Driver’s Charity
CHARLOTTE, NC (March 26, 2009) - The NASCAR Foundation is proud to announce its partnership with the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation (WBWF) for NASCAR Day 2009. NASCAR Day is an annual celebration of the NASCAR spirit and the sixth-annual observance will be held this year on Friday, May 15th. NASCAR fans, corporations, schools and organizations across the country are encouraged to donate $5 and all participants will receive a collectible 2009 NASCAR Day lapel pin for their donation.
This weekend, several volunteers from the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation will be out at Martinsville Speedway with The NASCAR Foundation collecting $5 donations for the 2009 pins. The booth is located in front of The NASCAR Foundation hauler in the midway. People not traveling to the track this weekend can still support the WBWF fulfill its mission by visiting www.twbwf.org and making a minimum $5 donation for their NASCAR Day pin.
The WBWF will use the proceeds from this NASCAR fundraiser to fund their Wounded Warrior program and to hire local college interns for the summer. The WBWF an environmental and educational-oriented organization dedicated to promoting natural resource conservation, habitat enhancement, and proper stewardship of America's lands.

"We are proud of our continued connection with NASCAR as they support my Foundation’s efforts of undertaking and accomplishing projects that help the environment, kids, and our community overall.”
